Daily Narrative The day began on the ferry dock at South Baymouth. The ferry ride across Lake Huron was sunny and windy, and felt a lot more like an ocean voyage (very little on the horizon) than a lake crossing. Brian discovered a computer that would let you track the ship's course across the lake, and proceeded to check in and criticize the captain periodically. The drive from Tobermory to Guelph was rural farming country, with a number of restored old farm houses that looked suspiciously like vacation homes. Things got ugly south of Guelph on the Hamilton expressway, with poorly marked off ramps and Darwanistic motorists. We eventually found Niagra, Ontario, and the tourist destination of the day, Niagra Falls. Brian, who had been complaining about the event for miles, had to admit that they were pretty impressive and drug Theresa along for picture after picture. We crossed into New York state and headed up to Route 18, along the southern coast of Lake Ontario. We eventually stopped at the Lakeside Beach Campground for the night, after driving though picturesque little towns that felt like they were stuck in the 1950's for a few hours.
