Daily Didactic The day began at Moraine Park campground at a cool 56 degrees in the sun. Tall mountains, trees, and sub 80's temperature, we say it just doesn't get any better than this. We putted down the hill to see if we could get an impromptu look at the bus's increasingly noisy front brakes and managed to find a place in Boulder that would see us this morning. We dropped the bus off and went for a walk to a nearby park. Having never been to this area, we are pleasantly surprised. Recreation nearby, very agreeable weather, if they could just loose a few million folks it would probably be perfect. After a couple of hours, a little shopping and a suspiciosuly optimistic diagnosis from our new mechanic, Verner, we headed back up into the mountains to buy another night at our campground. Our intention was to do a little hiking, but as we climbed the park road, the weather shifted from overcast to rainy to worse. By the time we reached our campground the rain was coming down steadily and the ground was saturated mud. So, we read and slept and eventually drove back down to Estes park for a bag of ice for the icebox and a burger for our bellies. Theresa sees eating burgers instead of hiking as something of a failure, Brian sees it as a minor success. After dinner, we found free wireless in the Estes Park Public Library. We uploaded some pages and checked email before returning to camp for the night.
