We rose late and prepared slowly and walked a block back to our new favorite restaurant, Café Sol. We are obviously not beyond repeating behaviors over and over if they seem to be working. Breakfast at Café Sol is one of those type of things. Well done, fresh, with what Theresa would call a great “vibe”. Also, vegan options. Can’t say they look completely healthy, but no dead animals or exploited dairy products. Saving the world one breakfast at a time, that’s us. Brian continued to work on resurrecting the Funkymoose and Theresa began a new painting.
After a relaxing morning, we headed off into the heat to tackle a nearby hill with a view. It was a fun walk through a less touristy neighborhood to the hillside park Cerro de la Cruz. The heat and relative altitude seemed like they could be real things, if we weren’t so wildly fit. The park was hopping with locals, vendors and tourists, and had a nicely orienting view of Antigua. We descended back down to Antigua proper and walked a lovely tree lined street back to the street market at the Iglesia de La Merced church.
Mid afternoon we returned to our AirBnB for a siesta (Brian) and some rooftop terrace creativity (Theresa). In the relatively early evening (ever creatures of habit) we walked to Antigua Brewing and enjoyed some excellent pub food with a Guatemalan tinge, a DJ, and an international crowd.
It’s good to be somewhere the temperatures are above zero. :)

Where we slept last night.
