Daily Didactic

We got up very early (for us) and went to the building’s gym. Yes, Brian went to a gym. He went because this is a 19 hour travel day and he completely forgot how much walking there would be at LAX. Theresa ran and did weights while Brian tried to figure out how a treadmill works. It was exhilarating.
After a short effort (Brian) and a healthy workout (Theresa), we returned to the 11th floor and repacked our bags. This was a pretty simple feat, as we just got here. We apprehensively called what turned out to be an absolutely normal Uber ride to the airport and were through security in minutes. We found the one lounge we had access to and commenced to eating the smallest portion sizes we’ve ever seen of pastries and such until boarding. Boarding happened early and was weirdly competitive, but the end result of us in the cheap seats was the same as always.
Four and a half hours later in LA our re-entry into the states was a slow process, mostly due to our non-competitive seat numbers and the miles of tunnels it takes to get anywhere in LAX. After re-securing our citizenship right to American soil, we headed back to the Centurion Lounge where we lounged for a few hours. We ate, we drank, and Theresa got the roughest manicure she’s ever had. She’s one for one in this regard at the Centurion, and there will be a tie breaker in a few months.
Miles more tunneling in LAX and four and a half more hours of flight time brought us to the Ted Stevens International Airport and a few more miles from home. Our young Uber driver, Mohamed, was awesome and reaffirmed our faith in not only ride sharing companies but people, who really are pretty great everywhere we go.

Where we slept last night.
