Daily Didactic

Our day started, shockingly, at Cafe Sol. Brian continued to troubleshoot the Funkymoose website and Theresa painted.
A few days back we scheduled a coffee tour with a non profit organization called De La Gente. They conduct tours with local farmer-owned cooperatives and provide an English translator and guide. Brian, with some level of skepticism in his genes, was... skeptical. It turned out to be awesomely memorable! Alejandro, a small-scale coffee farmer, gave us a tour of his farm located in town of San Miguel Escobar at the base of the Agua volcano and showed us how to pick coffee beans. We then went back to his home where his wife Francesca show us how to roast and grind the beans and made us some incredibly fresh coffee. Theresa, an avowed non coffee drinker, pronounced the end result “amazing”. It was glorious and we left not only with the experience, but a bag of coffee each to take home. De La Gente sells roasted and green beans online. Buy them.
After we shuttled home, we continue our unofficial loyalty program and returned to our favorite vegan fine dining Once Y Once. A truly great day.

Where we slept last night.
